Salary: $31,556-$37,719

Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED;
A valid New Mexico driver’s license appropriate for operating vehicles.
Experience with gasoline and diesel powered equipment
3 years maintenance experience
Knowledge of:
Operations, services and activities of a preventive maintenance program.
Methods and techniques of maintaining and repairing floors, furniture, walls and fixtures.
Operational characteristics of maintenance equipment and materials.
Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.
Health and safety regulations.
Skills/Aptitudes:
Good organizational ability; good written and oral communication skills; ability to maintain high level of professionalism and confidentiality regarding students, staff, parents, and school matters.

- Repairs of some components by welding.
- Repairs and replaces water faucets, fixtures, dispensers, sink faucets, toilets as needed.
- Ensures that all plumbing is working properly.
- Ensures bathroom stalls are operational and all stall doors are working properly. Replace screws as needed.
- Refinishes countertops and tables as needed.
- Hangs pictures, certificates, frames, etc. in buildings.
- Repairs broken tile in buildings, especially in entrance areas and high traffic areas.
- Repairs cracks and uneven surfaces in sidewalks and walkways.
- Changes light bulbs for outdoor lighting, gym and indoor lights above 12 feet.
- Manual physical labor, lifting, and moving materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintains equipment, tools and shop area in operable, safe, and organized status.
- Accounts for supplies, materials and equipment as required.
- Completes records and reports as required in a timely manner.
- Conducts monthly fire extinguisher checks. Ensure emergency exit signs work properly.
- Relocates furniture and equipment within buildings as well as to other school or administration buildings.
- Dispose of debris, broken furniture and equipment accordingly.
- Remove and replace drywall, texture, prepare and paint walls.
- Replace locks and door knob hardware. Give keys to Maintenance Supervisor for copying and updating of key log in order to account for all keys.
- Change classroom ceiling tiles that have water mark stains. Report any water leaks to Maintenance Supervisor.
- Paint buildings as needed.
- Perform ice and snow removal duties from building and school entrances, sidewalks, and parking lots.
- Report major maintenance problems to Buildings & Grounds Director, Principal/Administrator.
- Operate maintenance equipment, materials, and supplies in a safe and effective manner.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
