Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university;
NM teaching License with endorsements as needed.

- Communicates accurate and current information to students in a way that enhances student learning, and includes demonstrating effective writing skills, and use of standard English.
- Manages time appropriately.
- Cooperates with administration, parents, and colleagues.
- Creates a positive atmosphere and arranges the physical environment of the classroom for optimum learning.
- Prepares for instruction and shows written evidence of preparation.
- Takes precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate and complete records as required by the school district, and reports progress or lack thereof to parents in a timely manner.
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
- Completes duties (hall, bus, etc.) as assigned.
- Leaves adequate preparations for a substitute.

- Encourages cooperation between students.
- Maintains student involvement in appropriate tasks.

- Attends extracurricular activities.

- Monitors students on field trips and is accountable for each student.
- Acts as a good role model within the context of the school.
- Supervises educational assistants, practicum students, student teachers, and high school vocational lab students.
- Develops and uses community and professional resources.
- Understands and applies learning theories.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
