Job Title: Security Guard
FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT
Salary Range: $27,048-$31,571
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED;
Demonstrated knowledge of security procedures;
A valid New Mexico driver’s license.
Skills/Aptitudes:
Good organizational ability; good written and oral communication skills; ability to maintain high level of professionalism and confidentiality regarding students, staff, parents, and school matters.

- Patrols school buildings and grounds as necessary to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
- Requests assistance from school administration and/or police department as necessary.
- Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning. Requests assistance from school administration and/or police department as necessary. All complaints filed with law enforcement will be signed by the principal or his designated representative. Assume fire alarm responsibilities as assigned by principal.
- Report any unusual conditions or malfunctioning of heating, plumbing, or electrical systems to school administration or maintenance department.
- Patrols school grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles; check cars for parking authorization; determine if vehicles are parked in restricted areas, such as near fire hydrants, in driveways, loading zones, bus zones, and other no parking areas.
- Assists as direct by school administration in stopping disturbances, and undue distractions in the school or on the school grounds.
- Confers with school administration on matters of concern.
- Assists law enforcement officers as directed by school administration.
- Insures School Zones signs are properly positioned at designated times, as determined by school principal.
- Insures that gates are locked or opened at times designated by principal.
- Sets up pylons, rope lines, etc. to prepare for school activities.
- Supervises assigned school activities.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
